Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be kept for the time needed to answer it. We do not disclose the message outside our organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical information when a page loads, including:
- Page-view times and the pages viewed
- Your device type and operating system
- The referring site, when one is available
- Your device's IP address
- Browser type and version
- Approximate time spent on a page
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure traffic, common navigation paths, and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that usage information. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a query to the selected search provider
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Maintaining site availability and performance
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Atascosa County material remains with the Sheriff, the courts, Texas DPS Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs requests to covered government bodies, while Government Code Chapter 411 controls dissemination of Texas criminal-history information. Neither law turns this private site into a record custodian. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and visitor data is not compiled into a consumer report or third-party criminal file.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure practices apply to information submitted through those boxes. We do not control those policies, so review the provider's terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Atascosa County offices, Texas agencies, court systems, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy controls the visit. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search providers processing a query submitted to their tool
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when required.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary with the law that applies to a visitor and the data involved. Subject to those legal limits, you may:
- Request deletion of eligible personal data
- Ask for access to personal data held about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate personal data
- Opt out of processing where the governing law provides that choice
